Anyone who frequents Jalopnik will notice every so often (every other day) a video review is posted with a 101% of the time is being of British origin except for The Smoking Tyre and the other half of Drive. Now I have nothing against the Brits as it would weird since I am one. (Did you notice).

Anyway I come to Jalopnik for the opinions of foreigners in particular you Yanks since most of your reviewers appear to be just ordinary blokes as opposed to Lord Chumley of Watershire upon Riverton as a result I feel a lot more trusting of their opinions even though 90% of the time they are in no way relatable.

Anyway since you lot have a big ass country with a shit ton of people I assume you have other magazines aside from Motortrend so if that is indeed the case why is Motortrend the only mag with video content.

Anyway thanks for reading feel free to recommend Youtube channels with good car related. Also here is a Mach 1 Mustang with the appropriate stickerage as I need a picture and I'm too lazy to find something else.

Kinja'd!!!

Anyone wanna guess my favourite word?

Edit: The favourite word question wasn't supposed to be here but amazingly someone got it. It is indeed, Bollocks.

It's because, for decades, automotive reviews just could not survive in the mainstream media. They were boring, uninteresting, and you could learn everything they had in them by just getting a brochure at the dealer.

That's the thing. All of the review and comparative information you needed was at the dealerships. They had straight-up propaganda for you, tons of documents and would let you test drive if you wanted to. That's all the review you needed.

Nevermind that 99% of cars in the US are bought based on 2 factors: "My friend told me to look at this" and "Wow, this interior makes me feel really important!" the rest are Corvettes.

I used to work at the Bass Pro Shop in Mesa, AZ. We would get a lot of Canadian snow birds in town during winter, and some of the ways they'd pronounce things were very confusing. Like the first time I was asked where our "bat trees" are. Huh? We don't have trees for bats. Who the hell makes trees for bats? Bats live in caves anyways! Don't you canucks know anything? The guy then described what he was looking for, "Oh, batteries!" Occurrences like this were rather common.

I was in Canada for a race last year and heard a commercial where they pronounced it that way, I thought it was rather odd. I wonder how America's hat came to pronounce the same name differently?

It better be a Viglen Integra running a homebrew OS.

In fairness to us it isn't sold here so we never here how it is pronounced. We can only say what we see in this case Ca-ma-ro. As opposed to Ca -mare-o.

Btw Camaro and Dollar are the words I use to practice my American accent.

Here in AMURRICA we say "mahz-duh" where the first A is like saying "ahhh" for the dentist.

I've always heard brits pronounce it "maz-duh" where the first A sounds like the A in "hat."

But at least we use the same sound for the second A.

Nissan, on the other hand, neither of our vowel sounds are the same.

Nissan in 'murrica = "knee-sahn"

Nissan in britishlandia = "niss" (like "piss") "an" (like "ant")

Depends which Brits I guess. I personaly say da but a lot of people I know certainly say duh like they're running out of breath. The A is spot on though.

So when I was studying abroad in Scotland, my roommate randomly got back at 4:00Am and turned on all the lights, which pissed me off until I realized that he was being followed by like 3 girls. Which somehow ended up as a drunken conversation that went something like this:

"no no no no....it's not FIFTY cent, its FIDDY cent"

"Fifty cent?"

"no Fiddy"

"Fifty?"

"FIDDY!"

Totally ended up dating one of those girls for a few months too. She was way cool.

No. It's an article of faith for many people to change the pronunciation to suit themselves. A few examples:

Lanseea as opposed to Lancha

Daseea as opposed to Dacha

Vokeswagon rather than Folksvaagen

Skoda rather than Shkoda

Pewjoe not Puhzhoe

Awdi not Owdi

Jagwar rather than Jaguar
