Let me preface this by saying that I am by no means a fan of Veyrons.

I'm not really impressed with their styling or the fact that they all, pretty much, look like giant VW beetles. They also are pointless purchases:

But... this color scheme....is just effing perfect.

It's a lot like the setup on the ill-fated Galibier concept, but better, because blue carbon and brushed metal.

And as much as I hate to say it, I'm not sure this two-tone setup would work on any other car. Maybe a Morgan?

What do you guys think? what's the best veyron color combo?

If I were to have one, it'd be exactly like the one in that header picture. Dark blue and brown is a good color combo.

It's a U-boat ... they're owned by Volkswagen ... it's a freakin' expensive U-boat.

Anything that makes those misshapen curves and lumpy body blend into the background.

I always figure simpler is better... I generally dislike all the crazy color combinations where the front fenders and the hood are different colors - it breaks up the lines of the car and makes it look funky to me. I do kind of like the SS that did the world record runs, though...

Make that bottom color orange...yellow...green... There are several variants, I think they all go well with black up top.

I can't say I'd buy a Veyron if I had the $$ laying around, but I'm kind of surprised how many people dislike it. I did too when it first came out ("whoah ugly...")...perhaps partly because it was the de facto 'top dog' - now that's it's something of an underdog maybe it's a bit more endearing. Every 'hyper' car is constantly characterized by ridiculous superlatives to the point that it becomes rote and unmoving, but I think it was when James May went for his world record run in it that it really became clear just how much went into this thing such that it was still quiet, comfortable, and luxurious at 200mph.

As an engineering feat it's super impressive, and way more refined than the Venom GT or even the One:1. However, its styling isn't synonymous with wild supercar, like those two or something like the huayra. Instead, it screams 'wealth.'

Yeah, the whole status-symbol side of it that draws the folks with money but no sense or appreciation for what the car can do is really what I dislike about it... I guess I can't really blame the car for just being that good, but it certainly does grate on the nerves :P

The One:1, though..... Man, Koenigsegg gets me; I'm not even sure what I would do if I saw one of those.
