Full update in about an hour or two. For now, dinner. Mini update - north Dakota sucks. The highway was awesome, but the lack of 93 and limited supply of 91 scared me. Luckily a shall station had 91 otherwise I was reliant on "tesoro" 89 that "might contain 10% ethanol"...... How the fuxk do you sell gas that you just kinda guess the ethanol content in?
Picture is the only cool thing I had time to see in ND, some clouds.

According to some idiots bunko math, above about 4000' your need for octane is reduced. Don't know who thought that up but... I can only get 91 where I live and some places only have 90. Buy Tier 3 gas only. Chevron, Shell, Conoco are some of the bigger names out west. You get more consistent quality plus the tier 3 detergents.

Does it really make a difference? I just buy 87 octane. made it 110,000 miles so far haha.

if your engine calls for 91/93 octane and you out in regular? Yes it does. It might compensate for the lower octane but you suffer worse performance.

Yeah it would knock probably. Good thing you don't live here I don't often see 93 for sale. Colorado has 85 octane for some strange reason.

Michigan has quite a few places that sell pump 95, 99, and 110. They're not at every corner, but there is a holy grail sunoco station north of flint that had 87,89,93,94,95,100,105,110 and leaded. I guess I'm used to being spoiled

Wow. You can still buy leaded gasoline????
I've never seen higher than 93 for sale in Canada.
