I hit 50,000 miles in my Golf R, 25 months to the day after purchasing it.
So I'm averaging exactly 2000 miles per month.
Because I drive so much I'm considering selling it in favor of a MKVII TDI Sportwagen next year...but damn, it's tough when it's such a nice thing to drive.
(pic is from a Tahoe trip a couple of winters ago, with its turbo manual Subaru buddies)

I haven't seen a Sportwagen yet, but I sat in a MKVII GTI. Very nice, and more Audi-like than ever.
sm70- why not Duesenberg?

You're driving almost exactly the same amount as my dad. He's between 2000-2200 miles a month.

My friend just got a Golf R. He let me drive it, I really like it. It also proved to me that I'm not responsible enough to have a turbo car.
Also I couldn't get it to blip to rev match when I downshifted. Albeit I only had a short time driving it I think that was the only frustrating thing I had to say about the car.
And that is a whole lot of mileage you got there, but when I got my first new car I had 75,000 miles on it before 3 years hit.

Custom order an I5 Turbo with the manual. The dealer can do this for you.

Nice car! I know of how you feel, we've put about 30k on our cx-5 since we bought it 13 months ago.

I match revs on every downshift! It quickly become second nature in this car.
and yeah...if I knew I'd be piling on so many miles I would have adopted a different car strategy from the beginning.

I came from driving a Miata into the R, so I guess I didn't jab the throttle hard enough or his ECU hadn't learned the trick yet. He's the second or third owner and it is a '12 R with less than 5k miles and the factory warranty only had a year used up on it. So the people who had it before just pussyfooted it around. He is planning to get an APR tune put on the car though.
