If you love your spouse, why not keep them safe with a full cage and 6 point harness?

I see nothing rong with your choice....but she may like a Mazda 6 better. practical, and still a bit fun.

Wish I could afford something like that. I will either be going very cheap new or something fairly used.

My wife has a few requirements.

1: At least 5 inches ground clearance

2: No trunk. Hatches, wagons, suvs, vans, and trucks only.

3: Must seat 2 adults and 2 car seats minimum. Preferably 3 adults and 3 car seats.

4: No stick shift.

Wife's ideal car that meets these requirements:

They just quit making the 5, so you should probably be able to get a pretty good deal on one...I'm still trying to decide if I like the Juke or not.

Me too. The big split for us is I'd rather have the fwd/mt and the wife would rather have awd/cvt.

Well, there is more space in the 5 than the Juke....so it's got that going for it. The Juke looks like it might be a more fun ride though.

Honestly I bet the 5 is more fun since it's based on the 3 and only weighs a little more. The wife is against the 5 because of the low ground clearance.

I've driven one....it was...okay. Not as fun as the 3, but more fun than anything else that looks like a minivan.

I imagine a stick shift = more fun than a juke with a cvt.

I would buy a first gen XT if I went that route.

But then your wife would be mad because you'd have to get the manual over the crappy 4 speed auto.

First gen XT with a manual is near impossible to find. They were almost all autos.

Damn, there's usually always one in my CL territory for sale. Here's a guy asking waaaayyyyy too much for one with a simple turbo swap.

That dude is out of his mind. You can pick up decent XTs for 4-6k

Yeah, he thinks a turbo swap makes his car an STI. Except that you can buy an STI for less than that... You can buy a slightly used 2013 XT for around that.

Makes you feel like a real life rally racer!!!! The auto Subaru's actually have the same AWD as the STI, just without the manual dif. function. The auto AWD is superior to version they put in the manuals.
