While I'm all for honesty in selling a car, sometimes things are just best left unsaid. For example, we'll use this for sale ad on M5board for a 2002 M5. It starts off with the same song and dance as any other for sale ad.

2002 M5 (Nevada, USA)

Hello! Long-time lurker here — I've been a member since I got the car and have casually followed the community. I've come to the point where it's time to part ways with my M5

The Basics:

- 2002 Jet Black M5

- 139k miles

- 6 speed manual transmission

- VIN WBSDE93432CF90603

- Third owner @ ~124k miles, Oct. 2011

- Clear title in hand. I ran a Carfax during initial purchase and saw nothing alarming. I guarantee I haven't been in any accidents either.

Asking Price:

- $14,750. Reasonable offers will be considered.

Pictures:

- High resolution pictures are available at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

But then as you read on....

The Bad:

- Gauge cluster pixels are erratic. Sometimes it looks fine, but there's usually a few odd columns.

- Cupholders are broken. They've been closed permanently.

- There's about 3 1/4" bubbles in the aluminum trim on the center console.

- Shift knob leather is faded.

- Most of the OEM tools in the trunk are missing.

- There's a clunk when going over large bumps.

- All wheels exhibit some degree of rash. The LR is the worst off.

- The front wheels have some seriously caked on brake dust. A simple brushing hasn't cleared it, and I'd prefer not to use any harsh chemicals.

- Some fuzz in the speakers at louder volumes. I'm not sure if it's the speakers of the Mediabridge, though.

- About 3 dime-sized dings on the passenger side. Maybe one on the driver side somewhere.

- A moderate amount of small rock chips scattered on the hood, maybe some tiny (really tiny) scrapes here and there. There's nothing out of the ordinary for a car of this age.

- The underbody plastic by the fog lights has a large hole in it. The majority of the panel is still there, though.

- Not necessarily bad trait, depending how you look at it. Long story short, about 5 years ago the previous owner gave birth in the back seats. Insurance then spent about $20k replacing everything back there! I don't have records, but the previous owner was a coworker and I take her word for it.

In case you missed that, lets go back....

I would have liked to seen the claims adjuster evaluating that and deciding what to replace.

On the plus side, what better thing for your baby to first experience than an M5? At least the kid wasn't born in a Camry or something.

this is very true, but I wouldn't tell the world my kid was birthed in the back of the car I was selling until after I sold the car.

He's going to grow up to drive like a douche and use no turn signals, I can see it now

Ew. Do not want. That one fact would prevent me from buying the car, even if the price and condition were great and it was exactly the car I wanted. You could never clean that thing enough for me. Also who's to say the previous owner didn't pocket the insurance check and wipe the back seats off and go "still guuuuuuuuuud"!

How much? Seriously interested over here. I give nay fuck about baby juice, actually a pretty bad ass trait of the car nonetheless. I'm sure many Oppos have at least had sex in their cars so, what the fuck evvvvvvsss.

you know that shit probably came out at such a high rate of speed it went everywhere. The dual cabin air filters can only filter so much!

My 530i has almost 170k miles in all kinds of weather - super humid and warm in Alabama and Ohio to bitter freezing cold in South Dakota. My pixels are perfect, how are his screwed up?!
