Whats the best product to protect a dash? I have been using leather honey on the leather parts, and it is very nice, but I need something to protect my plastics. Suggestions?

Not a detailer myself, but 303 Aerospace protectant is what I've had recommended to me by "dudes who know."

From what I've learned, just give up now.

But in all seriousness, I would like to know more too. What about vinyl and foam?

I have heard the brand name before as a go to for convertible top stuff, but I don't know that much about them.

303 protectant is the go to for protecting vinyl on boats. Stands to reason that it should work good on vinyl dashes too.

That makes sense... have to give it a try.

There's your problem, you got the duct tape on the bottom instead of up on the top where the cracks are.

This made me smile. As soon as I saw "protect a dash" I knew an S30 pic would appear. Looks like the "before" picture of my 78's dash. Love the design, but it really stretches the limits of what vinyl can do.

stretches the limits

Heheh.

I think, if they could have changed the design, it would have been better off with a flat panel and a simple, easily replaceable vinyl top, a la C3 Corvette:

I am so, so glad the pun was caught! Yeah, I love the rounded tops of the two main clusters, and that three-top in the middle. Very distinctive, and passengers always remark about them. But, damn, they wear out, and having an easy-replace top like you mention would be great. Fixing my dash was one of the top 3 or so most expensive individual bills in building my car. I like the looks of that C3 interior. The center gauge panel is kind of aviation-styled.
