Does anyone here pay dues to any car club or organization (not racing)? I'm thinking about it, but $25 a years plus another $40 a year (to be a part of the organization that's a prerequisite) but Im just not sure its worth it. Thoughts?
Have some Babs Gonzales.

What club/organization?
My FR-S/BRZ club is free, which works for me since I was never one for the frat boy scene of paying to simply be part of a social community.

Not yet, but the car club I'll be joining soon is $25 a year. Done. One official meeting a year. That's all.
What are you benefits of being a member? A sticker on your window? $65 a year, am I reading that right? They better send me a pizza twice a month or something for that kind of money.

I pay $25 a year for my Camaro club and honestly its worth every penny. With things like the dues to cover the little expenses the club does have that means that more profit from the shows we put on go to many charities at the end of the year. This year has been the best year and we are looking at giving over 10 grand to different charities during the holidays. We do alot of driving events and other things that are a blast but paying dues is just a thing that comes with most older organized car clubs.

I just joined BMWCCA to have access to member-exclusive track and autox events.
You don't need to own a BMW to join, fwiw. Quite a few Porsches, and a Corvette, Camaro and Miata are all registered for next month's track weekend.

The club I'm looking at meets every saturday at a restaurant. Dinner is not required, but it's great to show up. They go to shows all over supporting other clubs locally as well. If for nothing else. I'd be joining them and continuing to support them because the club needs more younger generation members to keep it fresh. The club as a whole is very close, and does great charity work. It's something I've come to really enjoy being a part of, even unofficially right now.
I'd look to see if there are location discounts or anything for either club. You'd be surprised what some of them manage to offer.

They do their autox at the sheriff's training track. 1.5 away, but still sounds like a lot more fun than a parking lot...

I used to. Then the jeep went on the back burner and I stopped doing club functions, gtg, and monthly meetings.
Some of my friends are from the time I was a member, I'm still friends with them. Its a good place to meet people that have your same interest.
usually some drama from time to time though.
I think if I was going to utilize the club membership more than show up & be another guy who's junk still doesn't run.
Also VW club but that never really panned out & I think dissolved.

Mercedes Benz club of America, 50 dollars a year
I was apart of it for a couple years before getting away because college ate all my money.
It was pretty fun back then and I was sad to go.
Since then I've rejoined, but the club has had some reorganization and the new officers of the local chapter haven't been able to really gain traction getting stuff going again. So there's potential but it hasn't gotten back to how it should be.
I guess I need to get around to doing that.
