I submit the 1986 Audi 5000s. The first year in the US market for flush headlights, as opposed to the four rectangular sealed beam units of 1985.
Still a handsome car.

A great car. CIS-E oddities, one-off fluids and expensive specialty parts aside, these cars genuinely deserve to be in the same pantheon as the era's Volvos for sheer stoutness.
