Buy a hardtop manual Iron Duke third-gen Camaro because those have the lightest body panels to offset the shitty engine's lack of power. Swap in a high-reving LS7 engine and six-speed. Install massive boxy bolt-on fender flares, ICE-9 suspension upgrades, rollcage, and headlight covers. Replace dash with LCD race gauges and shift lights.
Enjoy having my own street legal bulletproof IMSA-style third-generation Camaro racecar.

Better worse idea. Build a turbo iron duke, cause why not.

Oh god that would be terrible .
Those engines couldn't hold power and oil even stock, much less turbocharged.

This sounds like an awesome LeMons entry waiting to happen.

just buy any third gen. the berlinetta has the same body as the Z28. besides the 4 banger was the only reason it was the lightest was because of the motor itself. besides a v8 third gen is just as cheap right now.

Really? I heard rumors the Iron Duke cars has thinner front quarter panel metal and a lighter bumper. I haven't seen any Berlinettas in my local CL, just V8 or V6 3rd gens.

Part of me wants to see that car with a Bonneville SSEi v6 dropped in there.....the Supercharged 3800. Should bolt right up. honestly just bolt in. Works in the fiero making an instant 12 sec. car....It would improve the f/r balance as well, being something like 6 inches shorter than the duke overall.

most iron duke camaros I bet are in a junk yard. My grandpa bought an 82 iron duke camaro in like 84 and it had already went through 2 motors. They were utter garbage. But I've never heard of them of using lighter sheet metal for them. And I highly doubt it based on all the camaro literature I've read.

One day I'll have a TT LSX third-gen, just to troll the hell out of people. It'll probably be in a dark blue Iroc-style body
