I'm always grateful I don't have allergies when ever someone talks about them, they sound shitty.

"My immune system is equipped with the biological equivalent of fully automatic, military assault rifles with night vision and laser scopes. And we have recently acquired phosphorous grenades, cluster bombs, and anti-personnel fragmentation mines. So, when my white blood cells are on patrol, reconnoitering my blood stream, seeking out strangers and other undesirables, if they see any—any—suspicious-looking germs of any kind, they don't fuck around. They whip out the weapons, wax the motherfucker, and deposit the unlucky fellow directly into my colon! Directly into my colon! There's no nonsense. There's no Miranda warning, there's none of that three-strikes-and-you're-out shit. First offense, BAM! Into the colon you go."

You may be interested to know that one can take up to four Zyrtec per day and be just fine. The wife and I spent an hour (and unnamed amount of dollars) with an allergist to find this out. With her incredibly bad allergies this year (think debilitating) this is what he suggested. Guess what: So far it works.

You get shots?
I got them throughout high school, and I'm very glad I did. It helped immensely.

Definitely try the shots, my ex used to get them and they were a tremendous help. The tests are not so fun (they gotta test you for every single thing and sometimes your skin gets itchy and irritated where they do the tests). Funny enough I find that generic allergy medicine like the Kirkland brand tends to work much better after my body has gotten used to Zyrtec and Claritin.
Maybe you'll grow out of it I used to get my allergies really bad 14-19 but after 20 I only get them bad from April-June and nothing after that. I also used to be allergic to cats growing up and now I'm not, weird!

Ive had the tests every couple of years since I was young (I have multiple food and Pharmacological allergies), I'm used to them. The generic zyrtec does work better for me as well, its weird. I used to be allergic to dogs, but since I got my poodle in 2005, that allergy has gone away. Constant, low grade exposure can reduce an allergy, and poodles are hypo allergenic, meaning they have a low allergenic property.

Weird I didn't know that about being exposed to allergens. Yeah man the generic stuff tends to be better and cheaper its a win-win. When I was younger the only thing that would work was Benadryl and I believe it's because it'd put me to sleep, then I moved on to Zyrtec/Claritin back when they were prescription only. At 24 now I only need some generic stuff for 3 months and I'm homefree but those 3 months are hell. Best of luck!
