Right now, I have a thing for Ford's little trucks. If you own or have owned a Ranger or B-series, please post pics and a little story detailing your experience! Thanks!

Back when she was new (I don't have nor want to take recent photos due to rust).

Kinja'd!!!

It's a 2001 Ranger Edge Plus 4x4 SuperCab 4.0 A/T. Fully loaded for that year. I've owned her since 2004. Had 35k miles the day of purchase as of today she has 140k miles.

Mods: Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2 tires, Bilstein HD Shocks, HID's, chrome dipped turn bulbs, Infinity Kappa 6x8's, Pioneer headunit, removed air silencer, K&N drop in.

This is my first and only vehicle so far. I really hope they bring back the Ranger since Chevy is bringing back the Colorado/Canyon.

Years ago (2000?), I bought my buddy's parent's Ranger. '92 XLT Supercab 2WD 4.0L V6 5-speed, in Lapis Blue.

Here is a rare pic of lonestranger, with his Ranger. This was the last day I owned it, before trading it in on my current Sierra.

No, it's not a coincidence that my name has the word "ranger" in it. I even used the Ranger emblem type:

The same friend whose parents owned my Ranger had one of his own. '87 2WD reg. cab. 2.0L 4 cylinder 5-speed. That engine blew up, and he replaced it with a 2.8L V6. He had it for years and years, repainted it himself and kept making his own little mods all the while.

It eventually was replaced with a new '09 Sport Supercab 2WD 4.0L 5-speed. The trusty old red truck was pretty rotten by then, so he chopped it up to sell the scrap metal. The first major haul with the new truck was to take the red body to the scrap metal dealer. And yes, that's yet another Ranger peeking in the back of the shot:

mine's an '80 f150 ranger. it's got a 'holy' '79 f100 frame, a 351c, c6, & 9". when i rebuilt the carb i tweaked it to have a form of cruise control, but no matter what i did, with the stock cam it wouldn't put down more than 8 mpg's.

gonna sell it soon. wish i had room to keep it, because it's got more character than robin williams, it's had little issues like electrical gremlins and loose steering bits, but will probable run forever.

I bought a Ranger desert race truck in 2011 which, sadly, I've only been able to race once this far. Still a fantastic mad beast to play with, though.

Nice! Have you thought about entering Baja?

Planning to eventually. For now I'm looking at Best In The Desert events. All the same drivers and trucks that race in Baja, racing on similar roads, but at about 1/4 the cost and a better support system if things go catastrophic.

Ranger #1: 1989, 2wd standard cab long bed 4 banger, black. My very first set of wheels. Ended up naming it Kenny, I think that was South Park influenced. Would go absolutely nowhere in the snow, paint on the hood would only look good if freshly waxed, had to replace the timing belt but not much else that wasnt regular maintenance. It wasn't much and didnt have hardly any options but i loved that thing. I wore the paint down on the hood from waxing it so much. I think it looked fantastic all cleaned up. Had it for 3 years, traded it within my family for a car better suited for the long trip to college and Colorado winters. Family had it for another few months and sold it. Think it bad about 130k on the clock.

Ranger #2: 1999 4wd, ext cab stepside, red, 4.0 OHV. Bought in 2002 to replace the before mentioned car while in college and finally had enough income to income to afford a payment. Think it had 32k on the clock. Named 'lil red Rangerhood'. Still have it today @ 158k and drive it 25 miles one way to work. She is tired and not well suited for for my current needs (commute and 2 kids) but she is special.

I've had other cars and pickups during its reign but those come and go, this Ranger has become family. I am actively looking to replace it for my commute for my daily needs but it won't be traded in. It won't be sold to be someone elses beater. It's special to me and deserves something more. It needs more work than it is fiscally worth, but we aren't talking about common sense or practicality, we are talking about family.

My son is almost 3. He will learn to drive in it someday and when he does it will be better than ever. Maybe with a 5.0 swap, maybe a 4bt Cummins....

Pics will have to follow.

I'm not ashamed to admit typing this made me a touch emotional.
