As spotted on my commute.
But it's definitely not built that way

I'll be totally honest. Everytime I saw one of these cars on the road, I thought it was a Hyundai.
Woops.

I actually looked into these when I was shopping for my current vehicle. I ended up with my Grand Marquis because they depreciated even faster than these Amantis even though they started out new around the same price. Honestly I would have gone for the Kia if I had found one in good shape near my location, but most of them looked like they'd had abusive/uncaring owners, or they were very expensive. I should note that most had 70-90 thousand miles and weren't creaking, rattling, or in any way falling apart.

My family had the Hyundai equivalent to one of these.
It was honest to God the worst car we had ever owned. Even compared to smog-era AMCs and early 90s Buicks.
It was terrible in every single way. The entire car felt like it was designed by a commitee over a phone.
The ride was unpleasant to say the least, the seats were shit, the shocks were shit and it felt like you were fighting the steering wheel the entire way down the road. I cannot think of a single thing this car did well. My dad's rubicon rides better ffs.
The v6 was so anemic it felt like a rc toy car with a dying battery.
I have never seen such flimsy build quality in anything. Period. The inside and outside was a plastic turd—WORSE THAN 90s CAMAROS AND BUICKS.
The few things that weren't plastic rusted or broke. The front control arms had rusted and broke in half while my grandmother was driving. The wheels shot up through the fender wells.
We didn't abuse the car either. Maintenance was done by the dealer everytime and we don't live in an area where cars are prone to structural rust damage.
The POS was still under warranty, but they wouldn't cover rust damage, so we just scrapped the son of a bitch because everyone in my family hated it. We didn't get much for it because the pick-a-parts around here hate Hyundais about as much as we do.
