I kid you not, these TL's can be a blast! Find one with a cold air intake and a mild exhaust, go start hitting vtec and these babys scream! The V6 sounds nice and deep and blast like a trumpet. Ive been riding around in my friends TL and its just good fun.

Its not crazy or good at anything in particular, but its like the perfect sleeper and daily hoonmobile.

Something something 260HP, more torque, 200-400lbs lighter, standard LSD.

Also, maybe a nicer interior and definitely a nicer ride. (seriously, these things are more comfortable than any merc or lexus of that time, can't say the same for the next gen).

ive never been in an SE R so i cant say from experience. however I do know they can boogie.

It's not an SE-R, it's a baseline Maxima, which is nicer. The Altima SE-R didn't come around until like, 4 years later. The Altima SE-R was just the previous gen Maxima drivetrain put into the existing Altima.

And it's definitely not a Sentra SE-R.

Ugh, you perfectly described the mentality of the students in the economics department at my school, they haven't even cut the umbilical cord yet, and they just steal opinions from their idle 3rd gen wealth upper-class idiots of parents. Seriously. It's like not reading the economist makes you a barbarian.

EDIT: They're also the type of people who can't fathom that car brand X doesn't produce the best cars in the world (insert Audi, BMW, mercedes, porsche) and is hands-down the most amazing car company, simply because that's what their parents own, because admitting otherwise would require them to actually believe that their parents made a wrong purchasing decision.

One of my friends has a 3rd gen TL Type-S with an automatic. It's a handsome car with a sweet engine, nice steering, great handling, and fantastic seats. I'd get the manual to unleash the J35 and for the LSD the manual brings. I think the 3rd gen TL is the best car Acura has ever made (NSX isn't an Acura).
