I was trying to remove a share of one of my old posts, and it actually deleted the original post itself (one of my favorites with lots of discussion, of course). Any way to get it back? I'm guessing not, but throwing a hail mary at this point.
Kinja is a cruel mistress...
* okay, I can see the post here, but the link goes to a dead page...
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache…
* got it! Now how can I restore the whole this (with comments)?

Edit this post with "Kinja Help"? Do a Google for the thread and conversation?

Did you delete it or just set it to private?

I was on the share, and selected Delete, thinking that would delete the share post, but it nuked the original...

Yikes, I don't know of anyway to get it back from that point. I agree that emailing the helpdesk is likely your only option. Good luck!

Found it using Google Cache, but think the comments are toast...

I'd send them an email, there could be some slim chance that they have the ability to restore a post. But I wouldn't bank on it. =(

Yeah, the comments never seem to get cached, which is a bummer. I've tried to resurrect things that way before.

I did, along with the original path and the cache link. It'd be great to get all the comments and discussions back, but I'm relieved to at least have the contents of the post.
By the way, that other thing we were talking about it earlier is coming along. Stay tuned!

Nope, sorry man. Gone is gone.
