1UZ POWER!! It has 180 degree headers, so it sounds more like a Ferrari, than the glorious 1UZ V8!

I'm conflicted with the headers. It sounds good, but I want a V8 to sound like a V8.

I like them too, but also like the way a V8 sounds. Luckily these sort of headers are only good for cars that rev to about 6 - 6.5k the runners are too long for higher revving applications!

I wouldn't need to rev in my application. That's my problem now. All of the power is made at about 5k in an SUV. That's 150hp at 5k in a 3900lbs SUV. I want to know who thought that was a good idea.

Haha, that's hilarious. At least it doesn't way more I guess! These are more performance oriented headers. Like mid to top end gains rather than at the bottom.

I have the power/weight ration of some lawn mowers. But at least it isn't as slow as an MB 240D!

TIL i don't like the sound of 180 headers on a 1uz.
Props for the build overall, I really liked the dual duct intake, but I don't know with all that focus on smooth and even burn I can't help but feel it could (and should) rev a bit higher in it's current state if he's going for that 'Ferrari Sound®" *shrug*
Looks insane tho. God those flares are pretty

Too nasal for an imitation ferrari sound. Everything else is great, though.

I don't know why it sounds the way it does. Usually 180 degree headers sound GLORIOUS. Better than Ferraris. For example here.
And here.

God damn, I am an idiot. Weigh*
You haven't drove some Indian cars, some come with 1l V twins, that makes maybe 40hp. . . it is crazy slow.

Yeah the car doesn't quite sound there yet. It needs to redline at atleast 8.5k At that point though, there is no need for those headers(they are best for lower revving cars). Besides the 1uz sounds great all the way to 9300!

For some reason that sounds like it would be entertaining in a slow, non-serious way.

Ah yes, much better. See, if the corolla sounded like that I'd be all over it.
Well hmm... yeah that must be a lot of piping for a high revving engine. Makes you wonder what the advantage of a even pulsing <6k engine is with that tinny sound.

Well they don't sound small just on the 1UZ for some reason. They actually sound beautiful! It is really hard to find videos of them though. You just have to hear them in person.
The Camaro at :15 and the Mustangs at :32 have them!

Ooh I kinda like that first one, in a "precision tool" sort of way
But personally I think unequal lengths can make anything sound better, even an itty bitty i4
