I had this crazy idea in my head of funding my overlanding by picking up with lyft. The idea being that in Utah I could totally get away with a lifted, accessory riddled land cruiser as a lyft driver because it would all be part of the "western experience" and that the more I added the cooler my ride would become and the greater amount of traffic specific to that look would come rolling in.

Then I found out your car has to be 2000 or newer.

To be fair, it was a stupid idea to start with. I got no time fo dat.

There was going to be a MILLION DOLLAR IDEA INCOMING here, but I need some time to think about this one

4.6L head needs to be done this year as well as rear driveshaft rotoflex conversion and oil pan gasket. She runs and rides and wheel decent.

His didn't pop head gaskets as far as he knew last - Bosch fuel system was what it was looking like. 4.0.

My 4.2 has the modern heads/composite gasket setup and the deletion of the four "bad" head bolts, so I shouldn't see that issue either. Not with ARB studs.

I'm going to be using a partial Lucas (sensors, etc. - i.e. the stuff that came on the motor) with Megasquirt and an electronic dizzy doing its own thing. Delete my diz? Not on your life, Bosch system... fuck off. How am I supposed to get anything close to a Hilborne look when the diz is missing and there's this back-of-the-engine cam sensor crap? No. Thank you.

I've contemplated as well but driving people around the city in a big lifted Jeep that gets about 11 in the city really cuts into the profits made by this idea.

Also, they really require it to be newer than 2000? that sucks becasue I always thought it would be cool as shit to get some old car like a Volvo Amazon and be the cool Lyft / Uber driver.

For Lyft is 2000 or newer. And profits? yeah, it would be a wash, especially at first, but the idea would be to make a name for yourself and work around the airports, maybe take people "off roading" around the area or something like that and hope for the tips. again, it was more just a passing thought.

I really want to try out being a driver, but there's a few worries I can't get past.

1. Having to take the child seat in and out everyday.

2. Picking up a drunk person and them puking in my car.

3. Girls accessories like rings scratching the door handles, and jeans with rivets poking the leather.
