Saw this oddity while I was home in Vermont a few weeks ago. I'd forgotten about the Volare until I saw this garage queen at the pump. Not sure what year it is but from what I can find online I'm guessing it's a '76, a year in which Motor Trend named it their Car Of The Year. I don't know why but this thing has found a little piece of my heart to live in, even with that white vinyl top. What do you think? Would you show this precursor to the K-Car years some love?

Love for the Slant-6 engine here. My Volare was rusting away in the early 90s, but the engine was never a problem.

What year was yours? Such trip to see a everyday vehicle like the a Volare in such pristine condition in Vermont where a car is all but guaranteed to rust off the road.

Yes, that one is as nice as it could possibly be, really.
Mine was a 1980 sedan. They had square headlights that year. The paint was brown, with a light brown vinyl landau roof. In its later days, it acquired a driver's door from a Dodge Aspen, so the trim lines didn't match up. And it was pea green.
