It's reliable. Gets decent gas milage. Has comfy suspension for when you're driving hundreds of miles each day. And most importantly, it looks cool! It's not the fastest but that's why they have RPGs. If anyone else has suggestions here are the criteria.
1. Must be able to do minor off roading
2. Be absurdly reliable
3. comfy
4. Be manufatured before 2005 (story related reasons)
5. Have a good amount of storage space
6. A big fuel tank
7. Decent MPG (the last two are because of going long distances without refills)

I think my ability to evade would be a concern in this.

You might outrun the cop, but not his radio.

2004 Land Cruiser Diesel
1.) It's a Land Cruiser
2.)Indestructability rating - 11/10
3.) $80k new
4.) It's a 2004
5.) It's an SUV
6.) 25 Gallon fuel tank, 100 gallon on aftermarket
7.) Up to 23MPG highway (good considering 480lbft torque)

I think you're mistaking "absolutely amazing choice in the real world" for "slightly romantic and quirky fictional choice that's still practical". Don't get me wrong, the Land Cruiser is probably the most logical choice that exists - but quirky it is not.

Well then, here goes my attempt at quirky -
1993 Lifted Civic Wagovan
1.) Lifted
2.) Civic
3.) Cushy Offroad suspension+ aftermarket seats
4.)1993
5.) Wagovan
6.) The wagovan got a 12 Gallon tank depending on the car. 12x45=540 mile range on highway
7.) It's a civic. Install an ultra overdrive and you are good to go.
Just in case you run in with the police- V-Tec, yo.

Awesome. Combines actual practicality with the grotesque hipsterism of making a silk purse blockade runner out of a sow's ear econobox. Crazy freak factor.

This particular 300TD.

I'd take a 300TDT over the 300CD. As long as you make the rear self leveling suspension reliable, then that's the way to go.
Otherwise, I'd go with diesel Range Rover.
