So I just wanted to flex my new authorship privileges and share a cool car dealership for those of you that love grey market imports.. I know I sure do.

This place is in Concord, Ontario and seem to have some really neat inventory. Including some R32 Skylines for the Americans. P.s they also have a heavily modded R34 GTR for sale which while pricey looks great.

My personal favourite was this BMW Z1, while they may not be the best built as a first attempt at a roadster those sliding doors have always captured my imagination.

So oppo I ask has anybody dealt with Right Hand Drive in the past?

When I get some money and maybe a garage I would love a unique import as a summer car. They have TWO Mercedes A classes! Hilariously awesome little things.

Welcome! and I think you should definitively buy that z1, if for nothing else but the hilarious stories that would ensue of trying to keep it going.

One day if I had $54,000 to spare I would be all over it! Seems a bit steep but this one looks flawless.

Slightly ironic name, because the Z1 was never offered in RHD!

I was thinking that too! Their Mercedes A classes are also left hand drive which is odd. but whoever finds and selects these cars does a fantastic job they are all very clean. Sometimes these imports look pretty beat after their boat ride.

ahhh, i believe i can shed some light on this dealership.

Place is not in concord, but rather Richmond Hill, ontario. How do I know this? I drive by it every day on my commute to work.

nice place, VERY friendly staff, always down to have a chat, they have top gear playing continuously in the lobby on a small TV.

However...the car buying processes itself i understand is....trying....

I do have a friend who bought a Nissan GTi-R from them. I'll see if I cant get any words out of him concerning that, but I do remember that he wasn't the happiest person alive concerning THAT dealer.

Hello and welcome!

So I'm looking at the site, and questioning why don't I live in Canada? And from the looks of it, I'm 8 hours Southwest of you. Also, I'm liking this Sambar .....

Fair enough! Yeah I think having a car consultant and using a personal importer may be a better option and possibly a better price. This place seems a bit expensive. However maybe in Ontario these cars are a bit harder to certify.

When I lived in Alberta during highschool so many kids had RHD MR2's, RX7's, and Skylines for the summer and pickup trucks in the winter time. But you can pretty much register anything there and the landed Skylines were all pretty rough but cheap!

I've seen the cars they have there, and they are overpriced by about 3-4K, but ALL of the paperwork is pretty much done for you. car is certified, safetied, modfied how it needs to be, and they even have a list of insurers who WILL insure a RHD drive.

if paper work is worth the 3-4K to you, then they are a pretty good price

Aside from the bodywork and the bits that make the doors move, much of the mechanicals of the Z1 are e30 bits so it should be more than manageable, until a door breaks that is.

There was a Z1 parked in my neighborhood a while back. I think he DD it and it was always parked outside. It is gone now. He now has a Z4.

Any idea what the build date is on the Z1?

must be a relatively late build 1991 being the last year. but no idea unless somebody can find and run the vin. I'd be interested in finding out myself.

I haven't dealt with them directly other than at events, but they are well known to be trusted suppliers for authentic JDM parts and will (at your request) help you search for cars at auctions in Japan. Although they mainly have Skylines, they've often imported random things like Miras and Figaros (which are ocassionally displayed on their lot). As such they are a trusted partner of specialty forums such as GTRCanada, which as the name suggests caters to R32s, R33s, and R35s that are in need of parts / sale / advice. IIRC, they were one of the first firms on this side of the country to have a landed R34 GTT, with a bunch more waiting at overseas docks.

The firm itself is very into the car scene here, mainly the Skymeet East shows that are every summer (they hosted last year's event but ran into space issues). The cars they bring are either display cars or cars that have been loaned by owners / tuning shops. They also have cars that are landed but reserved (presumably presold) on display for an extra touch of rarity. Below are from this year's Skymeet East; a reserved S15 Spec-R and a landed but not yet legal KGC10.

I live about an hour away from the Vaughan / Markham area that they are located in.

That's cheap for an R34 if you can get it street legal here in the U.S. I think most dealers charge about $100k for a fully licensed car here in the states.
