Buy that M5 NAAOOOOW.
The Defender is cool too, but I'm clearly partial to M cars.
$18k seems a little steep though, but I assume it's because Imola Red + under 100k miles.

Truly terrible interior coloring too. I bet if I showed up with 15k cash, he would sell.

Dude be very careful with buying Defenders now, if ICE get hold of that one they'll crush it.
Reason being is that it has a 300Tdi (which only came with Land Rovers from the 90's) and if the engine serial # doesn't match what the factory specs say they'll take it away. One of the guys who lost his Defender in the recent sweep lost it because he had a 300Tdi in his truck when he should of had a 2.5NA diesel. The 300Tdi is also not legal here in the US only the older 2.5NA(maybe? Haven't been able to confirm 100%) or 200Tdi are.

So you're saying disappear with it into the bush? If attacked assume they are a carjacker and "defend" myself?

Yep, exactly this. Engine swap technically makes it illicit, though only *in actual fact* via EPA regs. This is no more illegal than any other engine swap, cat removal, or anything else, unless the swap occurred before import. Swap before import means that they can allege falsification of date, and thus nap the whole vehicle. Very possibly on shaky legal ground, and ought to be contested, but inertia favors the bureaucracy, and abuse of power. Hell, I've been reading "we're a really real agency and we want respect" thug raid stories about this or that agency for twenty years.

Yeah, been following the Defender story very closely. Couple of guys I'm acquainted with through Land Rover clubs had their trucks seized and one was due to the engine being a 300Tdi prior to import.

Yea, probably. All black would be preferable.

Seller claims it came out of a Disco. Makes me wonder, I'm on my second motor in the Disco, brand new block and many other components from Atlantic British, my VIN obviously won't match; and for that matter why aren't they out crushing muscle cars with swapped motors. Their justification for doing this sh*t seems loosely based at best.

That's why I think the swap was done prior to import. It really is just some bullshit excuse to do it. I think they'd have less of a case if the same engine that came with the truck, just a replacement and I think you technically have to re-register your truck if it's had a engine swap. The whole situation is bullshit.

My county has no emissions inspection or regulation. But you must always have full-coverage insurance.
