Those are great tits. No really .
Well, tits , chickadees and titmice (titmouses?) are all from the family Paridae . They are perching birds, or passerines. So, I suppose what we call chickadees in North America are called tits in Europe and other places, but they are of the same family. What confuses the issue is that in the US, chickadees often hang out with titmice, which are also of the family paridae, which don't look much like chickadees at all. But they're called tits. Which the chickadees should be called. Got it? Don't worry; this won't be on the test.
