F150 FX4 with the Ecoboost, "fully loaded". It's a shame it came with Pirelli Scorpions. Picture obviously taken with a turrible phone. This bring total vehicles owned to...five. Again. After he gave us the Pilot. Hopefully this pushes the '49 sedan into my driveway too :3

Tune it!
If he is into message boards and such, here's a great resource for all things ecoboost:

Good sauce of information, but I believe he's more the "exhaust and intake" crowd.

Looks fantastic. Love the side graphics.

Surprise surprise! He actually had the timing belt and water pump done at 105k, so it's good to go for another 100k miles :D
Now, the rear shocks and tires need attention, and more than likely I'll need adjustable arms in the back to fix any camber issues.

haha that is freaking brilliant then!

Interesting you don't like the Scorpions. I have a friend with a recent F150 and he's on his second set he likes them so much. He's pretty picky about noise, maybe that's the selling point for him. Snow traction is decent too.

They're good tires for an on-road truck that never leaves the pavement, but I cannot believe Ford puts them on a truck with the "Off-Road" package. They're shit even by A/T standards.

Nice truck. My father has an XLT with the Ecoboost, I've driven it on a number of occasions. Thing has a TON of get up and go.
His came with Coopers, he got probably about 50,000 miles out of them.

Nothing says Jeep recovery crew like a set of Pirelli Scorpions.
Wait, that's not right..
No joke, the cheapo Primewells on my Ranger have a more aggressive tread than the Scorpions.

Believe me when I say it will blow his MINDHOLE if he adds a tune to those two upgrades. Those 3.5 will literally gain 25%. in power.

since when does "off-road package" actually mean it's ready to go mudding?

I work for a Ford dealer and have a ton of experience with both the Pirellis and the Goodyears and I think this video sums up the difference quite nicely.
I'm impressed, they actually use the Pirelli Scorpions on the truck that's stuck in the ad.

It doesn't, but I expect a truck with the "off-road" option to at least come with a set of competent all-terrain tires, not all-seasons dressed up to look like an all terrain.

I would love to see that too. Unfortunately these days off road packages usually mean a few skidplates and all season tires. :( Does Jeep still have a Rubicon edition?

Rest easy, Deekster, Jepep still has the Rubicon.

Just dug in and found it after seeing today's NPoCP FP article about the CJ... so yeah, that's a proper Off Road package!
