I dreamed that I traded in my Wrangler for...
An old body style Compass.
It was horrible. The worst part was in my dream I traded off like it was no big deal, then I shortly thereafter realized what I had done, and just lost it in my dream.
Terrifying.

It's fantastic. Too often you see badly modified Wranglers. Yours is excellent.

I respect its capabilities, but just because she can "perform" doesn't mean I want to look at her...
But we all know that there's no accounting for taste.

Lol, well I'm a fan for more creative car design so I like the Juke in theory. Maybe I'll just see myself out ...

I'm all for creativity, and getting outside of the norms of car design, but as a student of design, this thing's got a face not even a mother could love!
But they're making them, and selling them. Different strokes for different folks...

Ah thats right I forgot you were in the field, well as a designer (damn it feels nice saying that) I'm all for it. By all means I won't buy one any time soon, but the more they sell the more creative other companies might be.

This is a great point. Applies to other areas than design, too. I love it anytime a car that's aimed toward the enthusiast comes out and succeeds. Just means that more automakers will make competitive products, and competition drives advancement and keeps prices in check.
On a personal note, I wish I could (or would) refer to myself as a designer more often. That's what I know I am, at my core, but that's not reflected right now in my day job. I have my BFA in graphic design, and keep up with designing logos and other little projects on the side, but my current job is related to software and mapping (support for a group of geologists). It's much more technical than creative, but I began my education in civil engineering, so I'm some hybrid engineer-designer, I guess. It's a great job, in that it pays me very well for something that comes pretty easily for me, but it's far from my "dream job".
As a family man with three little kids, at this point I'm saving as much as I can for the long term and eliminating as much debt as possible, with my eyes on transitioning to my second career, whatever that ends up being. That's probably several years off (if not a decade or more), but I'll get there one day. The dream right now is to have a job that lets me use my creative abilities in a role which allows me to work from absolutely anywhere, as long as I have my laptop and an internet connection.

Bah real world stuff getting in the way. /Sorry
You obviously know what you want and clearly have already started (BFA and all). I just started off a different way (with tons of debt).

I really can't even begin to feel sorry for myself, all things considered, but I would love to have a job that was more rewarding to me, on a personal level, on a more regular basis. Hope your debt isn't too much of a burden. We made some poor financial decisions in the past, like buying a new car when we shouldn't have and running up credit card debt. We had our fair share of student loans as well.
I'm 36 now, my wife has a good job as well, and we recently paid off my car three years early, so we're only left with our mortgage payment. It's such a great feeling.
