"blacktruck18" (blacktruck14)

I have been posting here for a little while and I forgot to do an intro thread.
I drive a Black 2014 Ram Express (aka Blacktruck)
My real name is Tim I grew up in a small town in Illinois surrounded by corn.
Now I live in Tacoma, Wa.
I joined the US Army in 2003 because 'Murica,
and, watching "Blackhawk Down" too often.
The cars I have owned in the past include:
'87 Ford Mustang hatchback, '96 Hyundai Elantra (Don't judge me it was for like 3 months then I sold it). '92 Eagle Talon (the first night I owned it I got a ticket for 115 in a 55, that's reckless driving in IL, if your curious)
"85 GMC C10 ( This was the first vehicle I ever owned that I truly loved and really worked on myself)
93 Chevy pickup(that I sold before I could do anything to), 86 Chevy C10, '99 Chevy Tahoe Z71, '93 Corvette, '02 Camaro SS (totally forgot about that for a minute) 96 Corvette (Collector's Edition, LT4 engine), and now blacktruck.
I am married to an awesome woman (Mrs Blacktruck) and we have a wiener dog that likes to suntan, and I don't water my lawn because I think it's a waste of money and water.
I am a fan of pretty much any kind of racing (including NASCAR).
My list of dream cars is pretty varied, see the below thread and you will get an idea.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Pretty much all of those and add in a c4 Corvette ZR1, 64 Impala lowrider, SRT-10 Ram and something like this for daily driving.
If I had to pick only one vehicle to drive for the rest of my life. I would be blacktruck with the drive train out of a Challenger Hellcat.
I really like detailing my cars (I find it relaxing and I am pretty good at it) but, I would never want to do it for a living because, I hate detailing other peoples cars.
Someday I would love to try to beat the Cannonball record. Maybe not super seriously, mostly the driving across country nonstop quickly part.
I have been a Jalopnik/Oppositelock stalker for a while but only registered a few months ago while I was off work while recovering from surgey.
I do smoke cigarettes( I'm only adding this because I am doing it right now), yes, I know it will kill me someday but freewill and whatnot. I am not a big drinker (again, only adding because I am drinking a Bud Light 25 oz right now) but when I do drink I usually only drink cheap beer in tall boys (24 oz cans or 25's if Bud Light), Jack Daniels and vanilla coke or, if it's sunny out Captain Morgan 100% proof Rum and Vanilla coke.
I usually don't join websites but most of the people on oppo seemed cool when I used to stalk here so I decided what the hell I can give this a shot.

I couldn't help myself, I was so heart broken after I found out Chevy wasn't going to make the Cheyenne concept I had to switch. Plus, I love the way the Ram's look and the $6,000 off msrp helped.

I like your truck. Regular cabs have always been my preference over extended cab models. I also love detailing my car and see it as a hobby, and I too hate detailing other people's cars. In fact, besides mine and my wife's vehicles, the only other car I've detailed was my grandmother's. And I only did that because I'm a good grandson and because she paid me. Anyway, welcome!

Mine is no where near a work truck but the bed does get used and is scratched all to shit. But, I am careful with it and being 2wd it will never go off road which as I learned in my Tahoe will destroy the paint pretty quick.

Welcome to Oppo. I think you need a wagon in the mix.
I like your truck. I love chevy, but mopar has a great offering lately. By chance, whats the wheel size and tire size on your Express? She sure looks really damn good.

I do need a wagon, I have been trying to talk Mrs. BlackTruck into trading here S60 in for a V60 but she wants to keep her car.
The wheels are 20x9.5 and the tires are 275/60. I will eventually be upgrading to 22's and a lower profile tire. I really don't care for the huge sidewall look it has going on now.

I remember seeing that a while ago when I was still stalking, before I had my truck. My truck has the locking tailgate (the mechanism sounds like someone jacking a round into a .50cal it is stupid loud). So I don't think I need to worry but I might do it anyway.

i can understand the tire thing. By me, there are too many potholes for it. The wheels have a great fit to the truck though.
Im half tempted to see how a set looks on my car. I have an 05 Magnum RT with aging stock wheels that dont really look that good to me.

Space and Missle officer sounds awesome. I actually was in the middle of joining the Air Force when I got the reckless driving and speeding ticket I mentioned above, they pretty much said thanks but no thanks when they found out about it.

It's a pretty good career field. I'm getting to retire. I'm in the reserves, but did 16 active duty years out of 23 years total. I also did an assignment where I was the Deputy Director for Air Force Expeditionary (Combat) Training. That was pretty cool. I worked with 1st Army, FORSCOM, and TRADOC for 3 years, and also did the work in the AOR.
