'63 Corvette Stingray split-window coupe. It was in absolutely perfect shape, and soooo purdy.
Apparently this ruins it for some people; the car has an LT-1 swap from a late C4.

It's an LT-1 from a later-year C4.

Is that a particularly bad engine?

It's not terrible, but the distributor has some issues .

This actually seriously kills it for me. I'm not one who is usually bothered by swaps like this, but its a 63 split window, one of the most valuable Corvettes ever, and you just devalued the shit out of it by doing this. Then you put arguably the worst motor to ever grace the Corvette namesake into it, further devaluing it.
Shameful.

Noted, this apparently was not a good swap.

This. Would be sexier with an original, or at least another C2 engine.

Or any carburated Chevy powerplant. Hell I would be more please with a straight 6 swap than this LT1 crap.

If this was a C3 or even a C2 that wasn't a blessed split window '63 and that engine was an LS7 or at least an LT5, then this would be the perfect engine swap. But this...
...this is the exact opposite of perfect.

I work with (for?), wait, work-ED! HA! (Today was my last day...) who has a mint '63 split window 4sp matching numbers original everything, including the plate. Its gorgeous.
