I recently took delivery of this gem of a german luxury vehicle from Copart salvage yards. I paid $500 and some change for it. So far in my limited driving, I've had to fix a tire and top off the fluids. Transmission shifts smoothly and the engine pulls strong. I was able to do a bunch of burns outs, STR8 - OPPO! (I'll upload those videos shortly) I'm probably going to clean it up and sell it but I think there's fun to be had in this regal blast from the past.

Here are the details

1996 Mercedes Benz S-Class

Body Style: SEDAN 4DR

Color: BLUE

Engine Type: 3.2L 6

Drive: REAR-WHEEL DRIVE

Cylinder: 6

Fuel: GAS

Rebuilt title

Miles: 250k

Alignment is slightly off

What do you guys think, was $500 a good deal on a legendary german car that runs and drives without any major issues?

Salvage yards have functioning cars at dirt cheap prices? WAT...Why would someone scrap it if it still works?

I'm shocked you managed to do one in the 6 cyl model. Uncle had a 300SE and it felt like a slug compared to our 400SEL. I'm not sure exactly how much profit you will make off of it but hoon it!!

Parts for the W140 are plentiful now, so you shouldn't have much of a problem doing the bodywork. And it was smart of you to go with the S320. It's the most desirable model in the used market, as it wasn't plagued by a lot of the issues that killed its V8 and V12 brethren.

My question exactly, the seller in this car was an insurance company. Check out copart.com, there's a ton of great salvage cars on there.

I know, it's so weird looking under the hood and seeing a much smaller engine in there. I've only been around the V8 and V12s
