It's hard to get mad when they link to a commercial as good as this one:
You've seen it before, but it has to be the most enthusiast-targeted commercial in recent memory (only needs the upcoming manual transmission to make it perfect...).
Enjoy the glorious noises of the R coupe, along with the mellifluous tones, accent and inflection of Alex's voice...

As I had the opportunity to experience in one of Ray's sponsored post experiments this last winter I started to wonder why I too share a hate of sponsored posts. is it rational or logical to ignore good content or valid arguments simply based on how they are funded? This is more rhetorical since I still am on the "don't trust the sponsored post" front. I'm Just curious what bias prevents us from sorting out the good (content) from the bad (agenda)

I think Sponsored Posts are a necessary evil, like the B-Class or Hybrids.
Mercedes sells lots of B-Classes -> They get more money to develop awesome cars.
Jalopnik posts sponsored posts -> Jalopnik gets more money -> Editors get better salaries -> Raph uses the money on the Baja -> We get awesome posts about him ruining the Baja

If a politician ever does something nice for you, it's natural for you to consider whether they're doing it out of the goodness of their heart, or because they hope it will get them your support, and possibly support from your family and friends. I think you can chalk it up to our self-protecting instinct.
We're always on the lookout for someone who might try to take advantage of us, and our "feelers" go up very quickly when we sense it. Since these sponsored posts come under the guise of any other regular post, when we realize they're not, we feel liked we've been tricked, somehow.
With DVRs at our house, our family has the rule "we don't watch commercials", and in general, we abide by it. However, every once in a while, I'll see one flash by that piques my interest, and I'll stop, rewind and watch it. As someone with a background in graphic design and communication arts, I think that's the sign of a great advertisement. One that gets your attention, that you actually enjoy for one reason or another, and most importantly for the company, that you remember what it's trying to sell.
