- So I finally got to experience the dragon in a FR car.

- The nice thing about living in Knoxville is you can go to the Dragon/Deals Gap on a Tuesday.

- No cops!!

- Rain made for a very fun driving experience. You could really drive with the gas pedal.

- The foamectomy has worked wonders.

- The car is rock solid. No overheating, no issues, nada.

- Heel-toe is an issue, so I have ordered a new wider gas pedal.

- No ABS can catch you out.

- This car is amazing.

- I love the car hobby. You can run into a random group of people and depart as friends.

- Here are pictures:

Looks like fun! You're lucky there's a place like that where there's always enthusiasts eager to meet each other.

My NA is jealous of your NA. Glad it was a safe and fun trip. As for the heel-to, same here. But I always tend to do the alternative, which is to grab the brake with the ball of my right foot and stab the gas with the outside of the foot.

You're a lucky man running through the dragon with no cops and being close enough to it to be able to go on a Tuesday. Love the car and the car community is fantastic.

Looks like fun! I had a '90 Miata for a while (until I got rear-ended by a lady in a Suburban driving on a suspended license).

My Miata had a badly neglected cooling system when I got it, but after a new radiator, heater core, thermostat, water pump, and all hoses, it ran as cool as can be even in very hot weather. Top tip: if you need a replacement radiator, get the OE type radiator for the automatic Miata. It has an extra row vs the manual Miata radiator and it's cheap.

I have very wide feet (11.5 3E) so I never had any trouble with heel-toe, in fact, I had to bend the clutch pedal over with a pair of pliers so that I could reach the dead pedal.

The foamectomy is really wonderful. Have you removed the door handles for extra knee room?

Is that a cool air scoop I see?

Is your Miata a 1.6 or a 1.8?

That stinks!

I am going to replace the radiator here next month as it has turned brown.

I have not removed the door handles yet, that may be next.

Yep the lady who owned the car had an air scoop with it. I was confused when she gave it to me, but now I love it!

It's a 1.8 base.

I recently went up "The Devil's Whip" in my newish miata! I haven't been to the Dragon/Deals Gap but I may have to at some point. So many good roads in the mountains!

This is how I have to do it in my NC, too. Thought maybe I was all alone with this.
