I'm obsessed with this henny and gingerale song by Mayer Hawthorne. So much so that I want to try this drink. Should I get myself to the store after work and get me some? When i drink liquor it's usually scotch, gin+tonic or a mojito.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Also, I just noticed the Hennessey C7 Vette has the same horsepower as a hellcat!

I am a fan of the whiskey ginger in general, especially if it's Vernor's.

whiskey with just a hint of sweet tea is perfect for the summer. just don't use good whiskey, that'd be a waste.

it's pretty good, as gingerale with most whiskeys is. I personally do Jameson and gingerale if im going to mix whisky (because it's cheap). It is kind of a waste to mix the Hennessey though IMO. I don't often mix liquor with anything but ice or a splash of water though.

Liquors like Gin or Vodka I think only taste good when mixed.

But a decent Scotch, I also prefer to drink it by itself, with ice and/or a hint of water/soda(sparkling water).

Yeah, if I mix whiskey it will definitely be the cheap stuff.

You should try Chivas and Green Tea(real stuff, not the sugary american crap).

Also a cheap sweet red with ginger ale makes for a good sleepy drink.

Agreed. Love me some scotch. Whats your go-to? I usually go with Glenlivet 12 and 1 ice cube.

What scotch do you usually drink? I really in enjoy Grangestone, but I've only ever seen it here in South Carolina. It's a 16 year single malt, and it's far better than the other 16 year single malts that I've tried.

Mix up a Dark and Stormy. Try it with spicy ginger beer vs. off the shelf ginger ale.

For the most part, yeah. There are some exceptions though. I tried Nolet's Reserve and it was fantastic straight. Mixing that is missing the point.

Same with some of the higher end scotch varieties. Served neat, maybe with whiskey stones or balls but no water other than MAYBE a small splash to open it up.

My friends drink my scotch to often, so I usually have Dewars White Label on hand. I do like me some ~12 year old single malts though, my moms boyfriend always has a bottle or two on hand. I think I need to put a locking door on part of my liquor cabinet :P

It's also because i am happy to share my liquor, but it causes me to go for the cheaper stuff, although I do think Dewars is a great scotch for the money.

Funny story about Dewars, my friend has a friend that is a huge mooch, he let him stay in his apt one time while he was gone. He came back to find his Dewars in a BOWL. Because the dude needed the liquor bottle for some kind of pot smoking device...

Wow, that sounds good.

I'm not really well-versed in scotch brands as I typically keep Dewars white label at home since I quite frequently have friends over for drinks. I do very much enjoy it, especially for the money.

I do enjoy single malts a lot though, I usually have a glass with my moms boyfriend when I'm over there.
