i3's just chillin, hanging out at the charger

My BMW dealer has a charging station on the side of the service bay. Usually there's only i3s there but I've seen other plug-in vehicles occasionally, like a Ford C-Max, using the charger. You'd think in a big ole hippie town like Madison, there'd be more spots to charge electric vehicles, but the only other one I've seen is at Kohl's of all places.

Any idea if BMW i dealers are required to have a charging station?

Also, the charging plug on the i3 is on the passenger side. Why not park in the space that doesn't require reaching the charging cord all the way around the back of the car? It even has an ELECTRIC VEHICLE PARKING ONLY sign right there!

My local BMW dealer has an i3 and a charger right out front of the main door. It's very eye-catching actually.
