Nothing crazy, just loading a gigantic Kenworth onto a lowboy, but man is it fascinating to watch.

I normally think of big rigs as strong and rigid, so I found it amazing how the tractor's suspension squats as it slides under the trailer (at about 7:07).

EDIT: Looks like the owner of the video is not a fan of embedding so if you want to watch it you'll have to jump over to YT. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

You know, for as much time as I've spent around semis and what not...I've never watched a detachable gooseneck detach and reattach before. Good find!

Also...weird to see how far forward they have the 5th wheel slid. But, that thing is huge, so I can understand trying to shove weight forward.

Me either. Pretty interesting that all that weight is basically being held up by 2 pins.

Case hardened, thick and in shear is pretty powerful.

Story: I have a 3 ft. augur for my tractor and its got a shear bolt (std. steel, 5/8" as I remember) on it. Have twisted that off many times when all that inertia hits a rocks that stops the augur dead. Have a friend with an equivalent setup, except they ran out of shear bolts and just needed a couple more holes, so used a grade 8 bolt in there instead. Augur stopped, shear bolt went all honey badger and didn't care, and he tore out the driveline and pto transmission of his tractor.

Master lessons come in "what to do" and "what not to do" varieties.
