I still think it's the coolest looking mid-sized sedan on sale. Or at least the most masculine.

yeah it looks great but the performance... It could've been a modern day SRT-4.

Oh, easily it could've been. Or a second SRT6.
I've driven an '09 R/T with the 3.5L V6 and it isn't terrible. Sure, the interior is shit and the ABS kicks in stupidly early, but is isn't half bad.
I've never driven a new one with the 3.6, but it has to be better, maybe even a little... fun.

I thought it was one of the best looking little cars around.

They actually sold the Avenger over in Europe for a while with a stick and a diesel.

So did the first generation. But they decided to install the engine sideways and skip the driveshaft.

Dodge had a lot of potential in it's lineup in the mid to late 2000's

I drove one with the V-6 this weekend and it was awful. It handles like the Hulk and feels like it weighs about the same as Mjolnir.

I think the diesel model was available until Dodge/Chrysler pulled away from European market. Cheapest in Finland with manual and diesel seems to be for sale for $9500 (the engine has been changed once). The second cheapest is nearly $19000.

I'd totally rock an Avenger with the V6. Those things will haul ass.

I wouldn't consider that impressive given it's competition. Nearly all new V6 FWD sedans are quick. Altima, Accord, Camry, Sonata, Mazda6 and I'm sure I've forgotten some.
