This morning, while washing my car, I "discovered" 3 little 1x.5 inch rectangular stickers in the window. I say "discovered" because I knew they were there, but had never bothered to read them. One was an oil change sticker, which showed that the car had regular oils changes with Valvoline synthetic oil. Of course we have records of this, but it's still nice to know. Another is a VIP membership to a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which is still valid. Not sure if I'll be able to use it (depends how much the VIP discount is), but it's good to know he did. The 3rd one is the one I'm happiest about. It's an Audi Club of North America membership sticker. Actually, I saw it when I first brought the car home, but forgot about it. All 3 of there stickers confirm what I basically already knew; before I bought this car, it was somebody's baby that they took great care of. In addition to taking care of it because it's a nice car and I take pride in it, I feel like I'm obliged to keep it as perfect as I can because the last owner loved it, and took good care of it, and likely would want me to take good care of it too. In that way, I think both I and the last owner (who actually had 5 other cars and traded the Audi in on a Porsche, so yeah he's a car guy) got peace of mind when I bought that car.
