The SS gets a manual, magneride, and five new colors.

Hell yeah, Chevy makes a proper sports sedan now, and it comes in purple.

Kinja'd!!!

Also, the color names are great.

That one is definitely the best of the names.

I'm interested in the difference between Red Hot 2 and Some Like It Hot Red.

I haven't heard anything about the dual-mode exhaust being made available, but it's great to see that the SS finally gets a manual and MRC!

I think SLIH Red has a bit more orange in it than Red Hot 2. I'm not too sure though.

They will sell like 10 of those manual SS's, stop making them, and then car enthusiasts will be up in arms. Again.

Can't tell if you're knocking Chevy or enthusiasts for not buying.

My first guess would be that it's a renamed Red Rock Metallic, but I don't think they match up - it does seem to have more orange than RRM.

If I had the money, this might actually convince me to buy GM. Especially in green. SRT needs to get it's shit together and build a manual Charger.

I say we replace on of the two reds with a nice yellow.

I have a feeling that'll never happen.

But hey, maybe they'll surprise us this generation.

If GM's past history with bright blues is any indication, I'd be surprised to see Perfect Blue last the whole MY. A slot could probably open up.

I dunno what GM's problem is with keeping blues around. They make some really nice looking blues, then kill 'em off after a year or two.

I've been waiting for this for awhile. A proper manual V8 sleeper for Chevy!

It's especially evident on the Camaro - I've wanted them to offer Blue Topaz on the Camaro ever since they killed off Aqua Blue Metallic, but they used Blue Ray to replace Imperial Blue post-tsunami and are replacing that with an ever-so-slightly brighter version known as Blue Velvet. They also have a red, a candy red, and a burnt orange that all have "Red" in their names and even offered a magenta for a limited time, which just rubs salt in the wound.

Scott Settlemire frequents camaro5 and usually says that the take rate for brighter blues is so low that the paint dries up in the vats and complicates production (or something like that). I have trouble believing that the 2013 Camaro's Kinetic Blue only had a business case if it was rolled into the costly Hot Wheels Edition (even if the ghost flames on the rear fenders were kinda cool), but it sucks if that really is true.

I'm just waiting for the axe to drop on the Corvette's Laguna Blue and Blue Topaz (which is only going to be offered on the 2015 Silverado AFAIK).

They released the Hellcat, this wouldn't be that big of a risk.

So, since I didn't delete my replies, and I can't see them anywhere other than in my own notifications, I just wanted to extend a wholehearted thank you for what appears to be my posts having been muted, or otherwise deleted from the conversation. (If that wasn't the case...then...enjoy the incredibly sarcastic ravings of someone sitting here watching Top Gear.)

Pardon me for not bowing down to the greatness that is the $47,000 full size car from Chevy, and for being so antiquated in my thoughts that GM hasn't changed, even though I supported my rationale with having been familiar with 2 of the arguably 4 Chevy halo products on the market now. Granted I haven't driven an SS, because dealerships have such limited quantities that the keys simply aren't being handed out.

I would again like to apologize for my point not being clear that Chevy is Chevy. Their brand positioning simply doesn't support a 4 door car being sold for nearly $50k. I tried to support this by comparing the cost of 2 of the 3 Chevrolet vehicles that I have, or currently do own.

Instead, you accused me, rather brashly, of thinking it was still 2008 and GM still made everything out of plastic....which I never stated, nor did I imply. I did agree with that for the performance my C6 offers, you can't touch it for the price. The Corvette is a fantastic value for the cost, and it always has been. But the Corvette has been in production for over 60 years. Something that the Chevrolet SS cannot claim. I also stated that I wouldn't pay what that car stickered for when it was new.

I closed my argument stating that once these depreciate, if I had a need for a 4 door DD, they would be at the top of my shopping list, and if they were $10k less, I'd consider purchasing one now. That's where I got no response, and where it appears my commentary was muted.

So, is this me being a bit of a troll? Sure, call it what you will. Was my initial post calling you out for copying and pasting some of the stuff that was posted on the Jalopnik front page? Sure....my bad on that one. But, the way I took (what at least appears to me as) my commentary being muted is, I either infuriated you so much that you couldn't bare to reply, even if it was telling me to shut the fuck up and go to my room; or you had the realization that I wasn't just coming in here to hate on GM to talk shit, and that I actually like the car in question.
