I don't read comments at all on Speedhunters, but today i scrolled too far down and caught something in the corner of my eye. Then i clicked on the username.
Oh boy.

Okay then , have it like this , that LS swap ruins the car as a whole. No I don't care about performance , i am just saying that this is over-done , even more than a 2JZ or RB swap. When I see a good looking let's say s13 and I hear it has an LS engine , that just makes me sick...no offense to you "budget minded" "enthusiasts". Sorry but this is not something an "enthusiast" would do.
or
Nice builds , all of those cars except the LS powered ones.
There's a few others worth reading.
I really don't understand this.

Because the people of the world owe it to this guy (and all guys that think like him) to make sure that their time/energy/money is spent in a way that conform to his personal standards of acceptability.
What a twat.

Oh goody, another laptop racer. This Novac CLEARLY has never actually been in a LS swap
I hate ppl like this, they add nothing but toxicity to an already fragile scene

"and all you hear now is a lazy V8 that's going to rev to 7000 if you're lucky." OH GOD NO ONLY 7K WHY WOULD ANYBODY POSSIBLY WANT A WIDE TORQUE BAND I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE BASICS ABOUT PERFORMANCE ENGINES

Sounds like he's seen tail lights of LS cars many times. I say LS all the things. Also I approve of the 2jz swapped 69 Camaro. So, no, Im not closed minded.

That's what it sounds like. In one comment he says using an LS makes up for shitty skills. Sounds like a bitter child.

I read a few more of his comments and he said that he wanted an Srt 8 gts viper. Lol wut.

I get it and tend to agree. Although, let's say you have a Vista cruiser that you just love but you want more power. LS swap. Or a tempest, or whatever.
But let's say you have a classic jaguar. Hell no, that would be like a middle aged woman with no skill trying to restore a beautiful classic painting. She gets the job done, but does no justice to the original piece and instead ruins it. Oh wait, that happened.
LS swaps are cliches. They're the easy way out. Can you imagine if Ferrambo just had a restoration with an LS swap?
Don't get me wrong. I respect LS motors. But I think there is a time and place for them. I would love to pick up an unloved classic corvette and drop in a newer LS. Or even drop one into a '32 ford.
But if I were doing that classic jag I mentioned earlier I would swap in something that does it justice. Supercharged AJ V8 from a 2000ish XJR is what I would go with.
How about a Mercedes 123 wagon with an AMG V8?
Or an S14 with a VQ35/37?
Or a Honda with a.... Oh fuck Honda, crush it or LS swap it, at least then it will sound good.
Would you LS swap a Veyron?

I would put a prius engine in a Veyron.

I will admit that I'm bored of the LS swap, but it's ubiquitous for a reason. Screw this guy and his definition of what is and what isn't an enthusiast.
I may not be into it, but who cares? Not my car. If you're having fun with it, that's all that matters.

Makes me want to swap a 1UZ-FE into a restoration Dodge Challenger or something and see what he thinks of that.

Just reading the title I wondered if it was me :)
I'm not that bad, but I usually get turned off a build if it's got an LS. Not sure why, but it strikes me as a bit unoriginal.
Fine for when you don't care about originality like a drift car, but if you've got a show car. A car that's all about looks, it seems like a bit of a missed opportunity to go with such a common engine.

why not spend the money and do it right , with the same motor that it came with ? if you want cheap thats fine buy a chevy !
