I picked up a 96 Ranger for just a bit over scrap price two weeks ago. She is clean but needed a little help.
Sorry. All I have for a before is a potato pic.
The interior is as clean as an 18 year old truck can be.
It has inflating Lumbar and Kidney squeezers. And they work!
Today I set out to modernize the old girl.
It was worth it.
After $225 in Craigslist wheels and tires, $20 at the car wash and $30 in trim paint/tape, I'm pretty happy.
We aren't done yet either. I'm debating whether to spray her back to her factory glossy primer glory or.
Wrap her in some sexy pixelated vinyl.
Only time will tell.

Looks good! A cheap 4x4 truck is always a nice thing to have.

Nice solid truck! Do yourself a favor, though, and check the brake lines if it came from snow country.

You had to ask..
It's the 3.0.
I'm not a fan but it only has 155k on the clock.

If the thermostat is arranged like on my '95 2.3L 4-cylinder, it's a pain in the butt to get to and change, as in removing the radiator fan, fan clutch, and fan shroud before even being able to get a wrench near the thermostat housing. That's mostly why it took me four hours to replace the thermostat and radiator hoses today.
Congrats on the find, my '95 is the same body style, they're great little trucks.

A previous owner already put new brake and fuel lines on it. The rear spring shackles are dust in the wind though. A 2" lift and alignment are next weeks project.

The 3.0 is a good engine. While not making as much torque as the 2.9 Cologne in my Ranger, it is a very refined engine, of course, compared to the 2.9.

What is just over scrap value? you can probably sell it for 3-5k to mexicans here in texas that will tow it back to mexico.

Scrap cars are just under $200/ton here in Iowa.
I'd gladly dump her for $3k and help load up too.

I've actually seen a truck in the white/black digicamo, and it looked really good. After I have everything done to my 4Runner that I want, I'm thinking about that or an olive drab color wrap.

How well does it run?

She starts, runs and drives like a truck half her age.

And you managed to buy at scrap value. Where does one find a running vehicle so cheap?!

I'm a Craigslist addict. The ad for this one had so many misspelled words that I bought it sight unseen.

I am going to back this up just because I want a camo truck.

I like it, my only gripe, because sometimes I am 'that' guy, is the 4x4 decal appears to be off a Chevy truck. That aside, looking good.
