Incandescent vs LED festoon.

One of them didn't make it, but I have a few spares.

I also picked up three white colored lights to replace that blue shit I installed years ago. The floor lights are very handy, but damn that color I bought ended up being obnoxious.

That's a harsh blue, is it bad in person, or tolerable? My wagon came with white interior LEDs that look pretty good, but I'm kind of itching for maybe a purple instead...I don't want flashy or stupid though. The whites are really nice though...

I've been looking to replace the incandescents in the rear numberplate housing of our Cooper S with LEDs. Problem is, I can't find any around Hong Kong which is irritating. I may have to go to the side street markets. Reason I want to is because they incandescents get so hot, they've actually discoloured the trunk handle.

Mmm, crusty VW wiring.

They use brown for ground because everything ends up shit.

Yeah it was. The three assemblies were like, $20 each so I sucked it up and lived with them for a while. Finally got tired of them.

I thought they were going to be that off-blue-whitish color, but ended up being fresh-n-tight-rice-blue, yo

The floors of the van are really, really dark, so blue was better than nothing. It's nice to have a little floor illumination when you have a car full of passengers.

Can't wait to change them.

Might take a little research, but this site might have what you're looking for.

It's probably going to be one of these.

Take one out and measure it.

Edit - if this is your bulb (42mm x 15mm), then this might be your LED.

This is the color I'd love to find, as long as it's not super harsh on the eyes. I don't want a kit like that though, I just want to replace the regular interior lights that come one when the door is open. Car is black, and the interior is grey, so the white works really well, but I think a purple could work equally well.

Not really going to do it any time soon though.

1000% worth it, if just for the fact that when my kids leave them on (because who doens't like pushing buttons?) it didn't kill my battery like the incandescent did, and was still cool to touch after being on all night, the incandescent got mighty warm.

DISCO!
