So as some of you know, ive been working as a pizza delivery guy for the past two weeks or so. Its going well. Pretty relaxed job. In the last 5 shifts I've made $240 in tips. So it's not bad.
Anyways I got hired for the job I actually want, for awhile at least, as a medical assistant. Got hired on the spot! So for the next 60 days I'm in a probationary period. But after that I'm fully official. So once the 60 days are up I'm planning on buying a car! What car you ask? Pretty sure this!

Congrats on the job, but I'm pretty sure that a NISMO 370Z costs more than the annual salary of a medical assistant. A good rule of thumb for a financially responsible individual is to spend a max of 3 months gross salary on a car. That may sound crazy conservative, but I'm a responsible adult with kids, two cars that add up to less than two months gross, a house, and good savings. Are there any other adults on oppositelock?

Congrats on the real job. I delivered pizza's in high school. It didn't pay great but, it was the most fun job I have ever had. Good luck with whatever car you end up with.

Noice. It's good to see Nismos being represented here. The more varied our car population on oppo, the more everyone learns about cars. Can't wait.

So you're planning to buy a $43k car, which means car payments, while in the near future you're going to have student loans to pay off and get a place of your own to live in? All this from the salary from being a medical assistant and delivering pizzas?
My advice, having just graduated college and starting to pay back student loans, don't pull the trigger on your "dream" car just yet. Sorry to squash your dreams, but be responsible before going for the toys.
Regardless, congrats on your new job.

I luckily won't have any student loans. So instead I'll have a car to pay off. Which while living at home I should be able to double the monthly payments

Some unsolicited advice I really wish I would have gotten when I was your age. Take a listen to his radio show podcasts. I mean spend 2-3 hours a day for about 2 weeks just listening and learning what he says and what his callers say.
I don't 100% agree with everything he says all the time, but its within 1%. He is a religious guy(and I am not, at all) and it makes its way in, but not in an obnoxious way.

The lesson you will learn is if you have to take a loan for the car, you can't afford it. akin to this video
But its not just about cars, its about life and money in general and being successful with the money you earn.
