No, this isn't a "$77 and hour working from home" post, this post title is an actualy guy who quit his job late last year. He took some time off and bought a motorcycle to ride to Brazil for the World cup.

I've never met him.

I've really only met the husband (victim's cousin) 3-4 times, but it's an interesting story. And sad.

Story

(CNN) — Human remains found in two plastic bags near a beach in southwestern Mexico have been identified as those of Harry Devert, a New Yorker who left his job as a trader in finance for a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! from the United States to Latin America, Mexican authorities said.

Harry Devert, 32, was last heard from on January 25, while he was on a motorcycle trek through… !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Devert, 32, vanished six months ago after sending his girlfriend an ominous text message from a troubled region in Mexico, describing how he was being escorted from "an area too dangerous for me to be."

Mexican authorities, acting on tips, last week located his green Kawasaki motorcycle in a shallow grave in the state of Guerrero, along with the badly decomposed remains of a man in two bags.

On Thursday, DNA tests confirmed the remains were those of Devert, a representative of the Guerrero state attorney general's office not authorized to speak to the media told CNN.

The investigation was turned over to federal prosecutor because of the nature of the crime and the fact that it involved an American tourist, he said.

He apparently also liked to travel a lot, and just a trip through his !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! will make you realize that your vacation photos suck.

That's very strange. What could they want from him to murder him, and dump his body in a shallow grave?

I know, right?

I first heard of this six months ago when he went missing, and interneted him a little bit. Those photos are amazing, and I would have loved to have the opportunity to take that kind of epic motorcycle trip. (Although, I would not have done it alone like he did with so little riding experience)

Reason #14 to avoid Mexico.

Sucks for his family.

Ransom. When they figured out he wasn't rich, they got rid of him. It's sad but it happens.

I've been having a weird wanderlust lately to do this exact thing. Long distance motorcycle touring. This story makes me hate the world.

I would go to Alaska instead - that sounds much safer.

However, it doesn't sound like safe was this guy's middle name.
