My gf and I are visiting my parents in a month, to take advantage of their vacation house on the eastern shore of Maryland. All we need to pay for is flight and rental car, then we can go chill and enjoy the water, sun, crabs, and my parents' boats, a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and a 14 foot catboat (a shallow-draft sailboat that's very handy in the shallow waters around the shores of the Chesapeake).
This is the back yard at their vacation house:
Yup, that'll do.
Last night, I tried to book 2 plane tickets with seats next to each other, through various phone and tablet apps. I found the perfect itinerary at a good price, but couldn't for the life of me figure out how to pick 2 seats together. So I decided to talk to a person.
First I tried calling Delta directly, but their phone system prompts informed me that it costs $25 extra to book over the phone. So then I called Travelocity, and they were able to book the tickets, with seats next to each other. Problem solved, or so I thought.
I checked the itinerary in the Delta app, and my gf's Delta frequent flier number wasn't showing on her name. I tried to enter the FF# through the app and got an error, then realized the Travelocity phone rep had spelled my gf's last name wrong (there was an A instead of an E) which prevented adding the FF#.
So, I called Delta to change the name. They told me that because the flight was booked through Travelocity, Delta can't change the traveler's name. Then I called Travelocity, who told me they're not able to help me at all because their systems are being updated and I need to call back in half an hour.
That's where I'm at now. I'm going to give Travelocity some more time before I call back, just in case this "half an hour" ends up taking longer.

Stupid fees, but maybe it would have been worth the 25?
