My vote goes to the Infiniti Q60 (G37 coupe). The drivers of these are worse than BMW drivers. So Oppo, what do you think is the most pretentious new car?

Hmmm. That's an interesting question, and kind of tough to answer. I'd bet there's a lot of regional variation, too. Around here, my vote for Most Pretentious New Car is the hybrid Lexus SUV (RXh, I think?).

Around here, I'd say it is any giant soccer mom SUV. They think they own the road and are beyond superior to everyone else.

These things in the UK. THEY. ARE. EVERYWHERE. And I'm not just talking about the model in general, I mean this bodykit, black window tint, this colour combo ,those wheels and the 1.2 engine. They're always identical. They're a status symbol and I've actually seen owners of them look down their nose at other cars in them. A real car guy would never look down on another mans vehicle. I hate cars as fashion, which is what these are, the owners are never enthusiasts even though they put so much importance on owning one. Especially when the car itself is just decent, it's a solid A-B car but the handling is always compared unfavourably to the better regarded Fiesta and in my opinion it's quite ugly from the front.

Oh, you know. Still just the two most pretentious cars that have been tied for the title for nearly a decade now.
Seriously, for every pretentious prius hypermiler, there's also some justifier insisting that it is the greatest car ever made. If only for the sheer diversity in how pretentious these people can be.
The Smart is similar, except that it's less of the oblique "I'm saving the world" as much as its the sunglasses and tweed vest "I'm so different, you're boring!" pretension.

I still say that would be one of the best vehicles Lexus offers if they would just make the F-sport version of the CT200h have the same powertrain as their Yaris concept vehicle.

A 420hp AWD Hybrid hatchback with a pretty nice interior? Yes please. Sadly, it's saddled with a frumpy engine combo.

Haha I wonder how much it would cost? Right now it's the cheapest point of entry into Lexus, and that would be totally eviscerated, making it the most expensive Toyota Matrix ever.

I think that Lexus has institutionalized frumpy engines. They haven't offered an exciting engine and transmission combo in a mortal (read, not IS-F or LFA) car in over a decade.

Yeah I don't think they'd sell so well in the US. We still have a bit of the FnF culture left over here so cars with factory bodykits seem to have a lot of appeal. Also for some reason black wheels became a thing so being able to get those from the factory made then popular too. As much as I dislike them you have to credit a manufacturer for grabbing so many sales with a bit of plastic and paint.

"I'VE GOT KIDS ON BOARD, AND THEY ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT, PRECIOUS THING IN ALL OF LIFE"
No, your kids are the most important, precious things in your life because you are so narrow-minded that you can't see anything else, including other cars on the road.

I'd still love one of these. In either G37X or Q60 AWD guise, they're a great value for what they offer.
It'd just be a shame to be associated with so many douchebags.

All, if not most, alternative fuel vehicles. Most are driven by the young and/or wealthy. This leads to expectations of special treatment by both the city and fellow motorists.

Sorry if I offended you, but it's really frustrating when you're trying to find a parking spot and a whole fucking row is appointed with EV only signs (not even charging stations) in an attempt to please a minority of drivers just because one person, complains to the city that their needs aren't being met.

No worries. I wasn't offended at all. I feel the world is too easily offended these days. Anyway, do you live in California? That's like the most EV friendly place. Where I live most of the public charging stations are clogged with gas cars parked in. them. : /

You know, we aren't all that bad. Sure, there are several people on the forums that fit your alleged stereotype, but I like yourself was just a guy who lusted after this fine machine for long enough that I just had to break down and get one. I didn't need the X model though, the other DD is AWD when that is needed. The sport package was all I really wanted with this car.

Few people on Oppo actually fall into the stereotypes discussed so frequently on this website.
That however, doesn't ring true for all drivers.
