Turns out that you have to remove the whole front clip to fit the headlights :S Still, the ones I got were unbelievably clean so I'm happy. I think they're a different design as well. Two projectors behind one lens rather than a solid block. Purdy :)

Synchronicity: I've just been looking at headlight bezels. Perhaps these or similar:

Kinja'd!!!

Instead of the below. Trouble being that '63 Falcon bezels (of which mine are quite shitty - better ones depicted) don't fit anything but a '63 grill, which I neither have nor want. huge gap to the middle. Purely round surrounds/bezels aren't an option because the bodywork has little squared stretch areas in the corners, and it wouldn't look right (also pictured below).

That is a tricky one. Have you got a nearby pick-a-part that you could just go and get a ton of headlight bezels from for a pittance and have a go at fitting them?

Either that, or I'm planning to have a go at making some fibreglass headlight bezels for the Spitfire. I think the stock ones are alloy, but it's a heavy casting and there's some weight to be saved there.

We'll see how tricky that is :S

I already tried Landie Series bezels - much too large. :S
Not many sorts of car at anywhere local with a very trim round-headlight bezel to burgle - but that lot of three on eBay are all of $20, with some of the other options more like $50. Time and expense comparable to a pick-a-part fistful at worst, so I think I'll just go for "close".

I can abuse the fenders to match whatever I pick up probably more easily than I can try to make the fenders fully round - but getting it close first would be a bonus.

As to fiberglass, I haven't done any since I made a Dalek dome some years ago...
