I got a new Air Cleaner for my birthday (yesterday) and promptly put it on. Man did this thing need some more AIR!

Also, I drove it to work today, even took it on the highway. It ran great, I think the air cleaner helped A LOT.

The open elements don't really help more than stock other than freeing up some of your engine bay.

They only feel like they make a difference because you can notice the intake noise, same thing for cold air intakes.

yeah it was much needed, other chrome guy was only on there because it was free, it was too small.

Well in that case, it probably did make a difference. I thought you were referring to the stock one. That one is too thin and too small for that car.

yep exactly, and most likely why some people gave it to me for free, it would have been useless on his Mach 1 Mustang as well.

This new one has about the same size filter as the stock big clunky guy, just looks a million times better, this was one of the pics from I first acquired the Montego:

It was subtle by my standards.

Of course, when my birthday hits next month I'll have a single picture proclaiming the day to be mine and mine alone. (however, I found out I have to travel for work on my birthday... -_-)
