Is that a 32v mod engine? So big yet so tiny! Its cool though, different. 2 LS could fit in there.

This V8 is actually about the size of a LS V8(shorter, but slightly wider), it is also lighter(by about 50lbs) as well. Add the fact you can find them for 500 bucks on ebay, and you can see why they are so popular.

I dunno, I see both of those on a regular basis. They look massive. How much does one of those weigh? Proof?

I am 95% sure though it is about 390lbs, I have read 3 sources that say the same exact thing. A LS1 is around 430lbs, about 100lbs lighter than a LT1. Here are a few sources of info. Here is a picture of the size

This guy has a lot of good information except for the dimensions, he basically says it fits in a 700mmx700mmx700mm box.

And here is some for the LS series

Ive read anywhere from high 300s to low 400s for an aluminum LS. Its a wash though, accessories etc will vary. I bet they're within a few pounds once it said and done.

Yeah they aren't too far off in weights, but the 1UZ has 4 cams where the LS1 has only one. It is really hard to find any accurate weights on either engines(particularly the 1UZ cause it isn't as popular as a LS). Either way, the 1UZ is an awesome engine stock!

Agreed. Cant go wrong either way. V8 power in a small car. Cant hate on that.

The only strike against the Japanese V8 would be the lack of a big aftermarket. People are just starting to catch onto how awesome these things are, so it will probably grow in a few years, but right now there is just ITBs, headers, and cams.

FI is the way! Also for comparison. Not sure what that thing is, but looks similar.

It does look like the same engine. It isn't that much larger. I assumed it was wider than an LS cause of the 4 cams. It looks nearly the same though in length and height.

There are a lot of supercharged 1UZs out there. And they make fantastic power(apparently 6psi).

That looks fun, and sounds awesome! Any time you force feed a V8 is gonna be a great time, regardless of brand.
