I can never see the abbreviation VAG and not think about the word VAG. Which immediately leads me to trying to come up with a dirty abbreviation for FCA.

So I mayyyy have picked this headline because 1. VAG, duh, and 2. FCA is one letter away from similar slang in Italian.
THEY'RE MADE FOR EACH OTHER

VW wants to own Ferrari so badly, but I think if VW tried to do a hostile takeover of FCA, Fiat would sell Ferrari off to a group of independent investors first.

Per the article:
"Fiat's owners want to shift their focus to the Ferrari brand and quit its traditional automotive business, the publication said, without being more specific."
You're may not be far off, but they already have Lamborghini. I would think the distribution network would be more valuable to a company that is trying to be the biggest car maker globally.

Ferdinand Piëch is a crazy motherfucker who wants to own every brand, and owning the largest F1 fanbase and all of that merchandising rights would be huge.

Good point. My 'Merican brain always forgets just how big Ferrari is in F1.

Hopefully everyone remembers what happened the last time Italy and Germany teamed up...

Well that sounds farfetched. If that happens, I'll eat my Alfa's serpentine belt.

Chrysler's just making the rounds with the German Big 3.
I would still hold Chrysler's relationship with Mitsubishi as the "weirdest automotive relationship" but "weirdest automotive relationship" is slowly becoming Chrysler with Everyone.

Hah :) very funny. It survived from 57k to 129k without a timing belt change (without my knowledge as I was assured that the belt was changed at 80k by the mechanic I took it to), so I think it should be alright ;)

I guess it depends on what you consider to be a weird relationship but this article by Patrick was pretty entertaining and goes into the details.

I have a similar reaction and, after a mildly convoluted chain of thought, generally start to reminisce fondly about this show:

I know that feeling very well. If you've twenty minutes to spare at some point, here's the first episode of the series:
You might consider it a... Cultural learning experience.

Haha ok, I'll see if I get a chance to watch sometime.
A show I really enjoyed was How not to live your life . Sort of a show of the generation after the kids in this show.
