After a 35 minute drive home, I’m happy to say that these tires are wonderful compared to the turanza runflats I previously had. Here are some pro’s and con’s.

Pro:

1) SO MUCH MORE QUIET. I rolled my windows up and was in awe with how little noise there was at 60 MPH.

2) Much more smooth. Potholes are nothing now. A small bump that would usually violently shake my car causing rattles is now just a small bump. You still feel it and know it’s there but it’s like you glide over them. Much less pronounced.

3) I shouldn’t judge this yet but i notice a big increase in grip. I was playing cat and mouse with a 997 Carrera (he was going easy) and I never felt like I was approaching the limit.

4) These are feathers! I dropped a healthy amount of unsprung weight on each corner. Once I get some lighter wheels I’ll be golden.

Cons:

1) My only con is very minor and is overshadowed by all the vast improvements, but the tires are soft. The initial turn in isn’t as sharp as usual, but i’m gonna remedy that by raisng the psi by 2 all around.

I have high hopes for these tires. The price was excellent. A 205/55 goes for $105 on tirerack. I got a better deal with my mechanic but he’s a family friend. The tread wear rating is over 500 so these should last a while. The all weather performance is praised. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase and my initial experience.

What car are these on?

I just replaced the stock run-flats on my 135i with a set of DWSs and I've been so completely satisfied. It feels a bit softer and "floatier" now, but that's more an issue with the stock setup being set up for the run-flats than the tire itself.

E90 328i. Same color as the car above! My wheels are covered in brake dust so I'm holding those pictures off until I can clean them.

I'm eventually thinking about putting some eibach springs on with bilstein shocks to help improve handling and remedy the "floaty" feeling. It's not as bad as I thought it would be.

I know the feeling on the brake dust front, mine drive me nuts.

I'm due for some new pads soon, so I'm thinking about switching to a low dust pad. I love the initial bite of the stock brakes, I just HATE the dust.

This is very encouraging, I'm helping my pops look for tires for his '08 Mustang GT and I think the DWs would be perfect in terms of comfort, low road noise, endurance, and still maintain excellent grip.

Glad I could help! The DW is a great choice, I would've gone with it but I need a true all season to handle the snow.

I've got these on my '87 535is, have about 12000 miles on them so far, and am very happy. Definitely would recommend DWS to a friend, I'm never buying crummy tires again.

Very smooth, very quiet, very very grippy compared to the tires I normally run. The s in DWS does stand for snow, and they really don't do too bad in light snow/slush. Anything more than that, and you'll wish you had gotten snows, which I guess is to be expected in New York.

As far as durability, in 12k miles, wear has been quite acceptable. The "s" molded into the tread is supposed to wear away after a while, letting you know not to use them for snow, and I haven't gotten near that depth yet.

A lot of the reviews I've read also say something about reduced turn in responsiveness, but I have to say I'm not an experienced enough driver to notice. The tire to steering wheel tactile feel is definitely smoothed out a bt over non-performance tires, which is actually a bit of a benefit with the old gal. Good value.

Can't wait to see a pic of them installed!

I have the DW version on my GTI, which replaced the crappy all-season Pirellis it came with. Totally transformed the car. I can now launch the car @ full throttle in 1st and 2nd gear with out a hint of wheelspin, unless it's raining and I'm pointed uphill.

On the downside, I'm down 2-3 mpg since getting them. Probably mostly from being more liberal with the throttle from stoplights, simply because I can. :-)

Most modern BMW's (not M cars) come standard with runflats. With how hard the runflats are, the ride isn't great but the handling was nice and sharp. It really isn't much worse with these tires and the DWS cost a good $250+ less than the OEM RFT.

Forget pictures of these installed, I wanna see pictures of your E28!

The grip is nice!!

Strange, I actually noted a 1-2 mpg increase on the drive home EVEN after driving spiritedly with a 911.

Hah, only too happy to indulge! Ya, they're surprisingly affordable. Here she is Brunhilde von Schnell in all her glory!

I can only imagine what these DWS's are like over the stock TRX Pirelli's!

Nice! I'm waiting for a clean E28 or E34 to pop up locally. I unfortunately bought an auto E90 so I've been having a horrible itch for a manual car.

Is it your daily?

Unfortunately?! Sweet ride! Pic? Mine's an auto too (no shame, despite what the Opponazis [kidding guys, don't break my knee caps] want you to think!), although I have a manual swap sitting in my living room staring at me.

It is, although that mostly involves moving it for alternate side parking.

LOL @ opponazi's, I'm gonna have to remember that one!
