I saw this second gen. Honda CR-X survivor today. Looks to me like the original paint, rims, and exhaust. Which is actually kind of refreshing. Most of these you see are poorly modified by cash strapped teenagers with an affinity for Autozone "performance parts".

Pretty much a complete car save the interior. There was only a driver's seat and carpet. A weight saving effort? Recent plates and tires make me think this thing just got back on the road.

I love seeing honest old cars like these. It's like they're telling the story of where they've been all this time. I think if it were mine I'd wash it and call it done.

Would you paint it or roll it the way it is?

One like this would be a good start. It's not a show stopper but it's on it's feet and apparently reliable enough to commute in.

Joy. Pure joy. I did semi-bad things to an EF civic when I was a teenager (Ebay cold air intake, ebay strut bars, rattle can paint job) but at least I didn't damage a CRX. Whenever I check craigslist for them they are always ruined.

Actually the JDM version was called Ballade Sports CR-X.
