Kinja'd!!!

Spotted as I pulled into work today. Ignoring the asshat parking job, this is second vintage I've seen in my parking lot within a week. I want to say it's a Bel Air, but I'm not great at identifying cars of this era. Feel free to confirm or correct. More crappy pictures to come later, stay tuned!

Edit: Pixel has informed me that it is a '55 210, which is basically a lower trim level of the Bel Air. Thank you, Pixel!

It's a '55 210. The Bel Air was the same car but a higher trim level(stainless trim around the side windows, stainless time spear coming back from the headlamps, two-tone paint).

Not a Bel Air, actually a Del Ray coupe or base 210 coupe(because it has a proper B-pillar).

I'm pretty sure this is important. Does it say Bel Air?

Thank you, sir! Or ma'am, I suppose. Damn gender neutral screenames.

This should tell you trim level. It is not a Bel Air. The ridge here would be chrome if it were.

That Bel Air is pretty optioned out on the exterior accessories. Has the grille guard, bumper corner guards, rocker trim, gas cap trim, door handle trim. don't see many Bel Air 2 door sedans, seems most are hardtops

Nope. Not a 210. The text on the fender and the lack of chrome trim on the fenders make it a 150.

I'm sorry, but you are incorrect. The 210 has the side spear on the rear quarter, 150 does not. 150 also does not have the stainless windshield trim.

Well, back in the '50s, every manufacturer basically just built one car on maybe 2 wheelbase lengths and with a bunch of different body styles. The different model names were closer to what we would now regard as trim levels but customers at the time thought of them as different, stand-alone models.

Chevrolet basically had 3 full-size models in 1955, the entry-level 150, the mid-price 210 Delray, and the top of the line Bel Air.
