This! Is what I want right here! Manual SHO well under my budget. Maybe a bit too perfect. But this is the kind of winter car I'm after.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Doesn't look like there's any rust whatsoever on the car either. What say you Oppo? Help K-Roll find some Manual SHO's in Ohio for under $3k?

Judging from the ad and pictures, it'd almost be kind of a shame to use it as a winter beater...

How is that too perfect? I really wanted one of those a few years back. Still wouldn't mind one.

Yamaha made the engine, you are going to buy this. No, you don't get a choice.

My uncle told me a story about him going 167 MPH in a green one of these with his wife and daughter sleeping in the back seat. Damn, I need one of these.

Family money issues. His Mom wants a Volvo, cant afford his note and hers, so they are selling the Focus.

This is the one I. My dad has agreed to this one as long as the maintenance is up to date and we find out when the timing belt was last changed. The timing belts on the Yamaha engines is apparently very expensive.

You said you were getting a mustang then a subie now a SHO. When will it end?

Kinja'd!!! K-Roll-PorscheTamer > Vince-The Roadside Mechanic

Kinja'd!!!0

Well you guys said getting a Mustang was suicidal, and that Subie wasn't worth it; mind you, that was the general consensus. This one kinda fits the balance of power, fun and practicality.

It's FWD, manual, durable V6 and it has good power which is everything I need. It's the perfect compromise.

The subie was a good deal that would actually be good in winter. Also the fact that you missed Charlotte shows that you shouldn't sell her.

07/14/2014 at 21:39

Kinja'd!!!0

Well who's to say that the SHO wouldn't be a good car for winter? At least it's much better than the other cars I previously listed(i.e. Mustang, Camaro, Firebird ect.)

And yes I missed Charlotte, but who wouldn't after driving a horrible van for almost a week. And I think I may just give in and give my dad Charlotte as a winter DD. That way, she stays in the family.

Keep her as YOUR winter DD.

Then my dad needs a car. Getting the SHO actually saves me some because I won't have to make $300 payments anymore, as they will go to my dad, and I'll have two fully paid off cars and just insurance to worry about which should be no problem. saves me $300 a month to go to other things.

Besides, the car is in his name anyway; he owns the car; the 944 and the SHO will be MY cars and mine alone to do whatever I want with them and go wherever I want with them.

Let him get his own car. But if you let your Dad have the ST you can buy it when he is sick of it.

Kinja'd!!!1

I would but he doesn't want to spend money on a car for himself, for some reason. But that is a plan! I could buy it off him when he's sick of it and he could get whatever he wants later.

Umm....Should I not have backed down in my search for a winter Mustang? I mean, I don't know anyone that dailies a Miata in the winter. Everyone just said it'd be stupid to drive a Mustang as a winter car. So I went around searching, and this was the compromise..

Something tells me you've got a good response to this..

Kinja'd!!! offroadkarter > K-Roll-PorscheTamer

Kinja'd!!!1

anything can be a good winter car if you know how to drive. I've read stories of people on this site driving their miatas in the snow, not saying its smart but sometimes you have no choice.

the SHO would be a better winter car.

Kinja'd!!! K-Roll-PorscheTamer > offroadkarter
07/14/2014 at 22:58

Kinja'd!!!0

I don't have much experience driving RWD cars in the snow; I've driven a 2.7 Magnum though and that was pretty simple to me. I just couldn't be stupid with the throttle is all.

The SHO is definitely the better car in this situation.

Mustangs are okay in the winter IF you have the tires.

How bad are they, even with proper tires?

Kinja'd!!! Conan > K-Roll-PorscheTamer
07/15/2014 at 21:34

Kinja'd!!!1

Even without my proper tires on, I've never gone off our 1/2 mile rural gravel driveway in the Crossfire. I think I went off in the Mustang 4 or 5 times. With snow tires on I only ran into trouble once with seriously deep snow.

Kinja'd!!! K-Roll-PorscheTamer > Conan

Kinja'd!!!1

That's somewhat reassuring. Because I'm dead set on the SHO, if it doesn't work out, I may consider it, but I should look for FWD cars.. -_-

I have dailied my 96 Miata through two Wisconsin winters. The tires are fairly thin to cut the snow, and they are good winter tires, otherwise I would not suggest it. But with the Winter tires on its a fucking tank, and can be so fun to slide around, and being so well balanced it is easy to catch.
